Stability AI has introduced new enhancements to its Stable Diffusion platform, most notably a new Stable 3D model. According to a report by Venturebeat.com, this move is the first major one that focuses on 3D content creation for the AI-powered image generator.

But this isn’t the only improvement coming to Stable Diffusion users. A new tool called Sky Replacer is also live which, as the name implies, allows users to remove the sky in their 2D images. In terms of image generation, these two enhancements open the door to a greater range of content creation for prompt engineers.

This is pretty big in the realm of video games and animation for the 3D modeler. While speaking with Venture Beat, Emad Mostaque, CEO of Stability AI, said as much, stating in part, “It’s about bringing creative storytellers the tools they need to have that level of extra control over the images,”.

Pointing to Sky Replacer, Mostaque has an industry in mind already, “Sky Replacer is great for Real Estate for example“. For real estate professionals, this tool can help control backgrounds and emphasize elements of homes they’re hoping to sell.

Speaking of new tools, a new tool called Stable Fine-Tuning was also introduced, and according to the company is designed to assist enterprises in expediting the process of fine-tuning images for specific use cases. This could be quite helpful to companies wishing to further scale the benefits of generative AI technology into existing design tech stacks.

Part of the new series of updates will also see the company integrate an invisible watermark for the purpose of content authentication of images generated by the Stability AI API. Overall, the goal of these tools, according to the company is to help further customers to integrate Stability AI services into their workflows.

This was also noted by the CEO as he made clear that Stability AI is working to build optimized workflows to enable the control required for unique use cases ranging across industries and even companies.

All of this comes as competitors such as MidJourney, DALL-E3, and Adobe, all push to add features, capabilities, and integrations in a bid to secure a portion of the growing generative AI market. And if some market reports come true, that market will be quite significant in the coming years.
